- Plumber on the Kansas City Railroad 1920 US Census - Mary & James are living with her brother Charles and with her widowed mother Mary (age 79). Both men working as pipefitters in a car machine shop. Living in a house owned by Charles at 110 South Pendleton Ave in Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri. The accident that killed James resulted in a series of articles in local papers. In particular article No. 5 about the failure of the Workemans' Compensation Act to provide relief to the families… These were sourced by Steve Stanley ["Coleman/Brizendine/Blann/Summers" tree on RootsWeb - e-mail: Stanley_coleman@sbeglobal.net ]
