So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

  • Notes
    • s/o Joseph Henry Rutt, Sr. (bapt 26 Dec 1858 in Andover, Fyfield, Hampshire, England / Residence in 1901: 41 Bedford Road, Reading / Occupation in 1901: platelayer on the railway) & his 1st wife, Emma Hartley (b. abt 1860 / d. Dec 1897 Reading). They were married in Apr/May/Jun 1893 in Cookham, Berkshire. After Emma's death in childbirth, Joseph, Sr. married Fannie/Fanny Madeline/Matilda Blackman (b. abt 1861 in Burtidge, Wiltshire, England / likely died in Canada). They were married in Oct/Nov/Dec 1898 in Edmonton, Essex, England. Siblings: Joseph (1894) and Emma (1897), and half-sister Winnifred (1890) (as per the 1901 British Census). The Barnardo Homes notes that they assisted Fanny and the two girls in emigrating to Canada in the Summer of 1915. Both Winnifred and Emma got married in Windsor, Ontario, on June 10, 1916. Winnifred married Walter Edward Larking (1894) and Emmie married William G.P. Wilson (1895) - both list Fanny Blackman as their mother. Albert acts as a witness at Winnifred's wedding. Albert's brother, Joseph Henry Rutt enlisted 15 Apr 1915 at Sewell Camp [Source: Attestation Paper - No. 440988 - 53rd Battalion] - his occupation is lumberjack and his next of kin is his brother Albert, then living in Amherstburg, Essex Co. Ontario. Joseph is described as 5 ft 4 ½ in, blue eyed, fair skinned with dark brown hair. Joseph Henry Rutt married Ivy Grace Gurr - they had 9 children. Albert and his brother Joseph came to Canada as child migrants thru the Barnardo Home Children. Between 1882 & 1939, 30,000 British children were sent out to Canada. While some very young children were adopted, the majority worked as agricultural labour and domestic servants. While some families treated the children well, and some were brutal, the majority treated the children with indifference and as little more than indentured servants. The Barnardo Homes have confirmed that they brought Albert and Joseph, Jr. to Canada and that they had been placed with the Barnardo Homes by the Reading Union for the purpose of outward migration to Canada.
