    • Obit: Martin Bye The community was greatly shocked on Saturday, July 27, to hear of the death in Detroit of Martin Bye, dearly beloved and only son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bye of Holstein. Mr. Bye received a telegram on Saturday, July 20th, informing them of the serious illness of Martin and Mr. an Mrs Bye and daughter Mary left at once by motor. Martin was a very promising young man and a favorite with all the young people. His two chums in Detroit, Mr. W. Haley and Mr. M Barry, accompanied the remains home on Monday last. The funeral took place from the station to Woodland Cemetery, services being held at the graveside. George Martin Bye was born in Mount Forest on March 14th 1905, and leaves to mourn his loss his parents and sister Mary and the community at large. There were friends from Detroit, Hamilton, Guelph, Mount Forest, Conn, Arthur, Durham, Priceville and Dundalk. The flowers were beautiful and included a wreath from parents and sister; sprays from Mr. and Mrs Ward Galloway, Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Robb, E.J. and Jack Robb, Detroit; Messrs. W Haley and M Barry, Detroit; Mr and Mrs. Burrows Smith, Detroit and Mr. and Mrs. Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Revis (where Martin boarded); Mr and Mrs. Henry Reid and family , Guelph; Mr Alex. McMillan, Dundalk; Dr. and Mrs Ellis; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Robb and family; Mr. and Mrs. McCall and family; Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
