So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

P. Brammer. ---- Smith. Lyman Smith, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. P. Brammer, of this city, Sunday, July 24, at the advanced age of 85 years, 2 months and 19 days, was a native of Clermont county, Ohio. from which state at the age of 20 years he removed to Lee county, Illinois, in which state he was for some years employed as a railway conductor. He came to Linn county, Missouri, in the later sixties and for many years was a resident of Grantsville township, operating a farm purchased by him in that township. During the years before being disabled by infirmities of disease and old age he was active in the councils of the Republican party of the county and like his brothers-in-law, the late Judge Silas Hale, and aged Charles Hale, of the same neighborhood, took a great interest in the question of the adoption of township organizations, when it was first considered, in Linn county, and like unto the Hale brothers was actively effective in making converts to that system. The funeral took place from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Brammer, Tuesday at 1:15 p. m., the services conducted by Rev. C. E. Snow, pastor of the U. B. church. The interment was by the side of his wife, who died some years ago, in the Grantsville cemetery.
