    • Linn County Budget Gazette, Brookville, Missouir, Wednesday March 19, 1942, page 4, column 2: Funeral for G. D. Ross This Afternoon ---- The funeral of G. D. Ross,who passed away st his home, 120 Market St., early Sunday morning, March 15, 1942, was conducted from the Hill Chapel this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. F. D. Cody. pastor of the United Brethen Church, and interment made in Rose Hill Cemetery. George Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ross, was born near Purdin, Missouri, April 23, 1878. His early life was spent in Linneus, and on January 30, 1899, he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Bivens, of Purdin. To them were born ten children, of whom six survive, Jesse, and Herman, of Brookfield: Edwin, of Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. Rementa Wislon, of Los Angeles, California; Erma Ross, of the home and Mrs. Vera Wright, of Marceline. Besides the sorrowing wife and children, Mr. Ross leaves three brothers, Alva, of Durham, Oklahoma; Claude, of Galesburg, Illinois; and John of Welch, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Kirby, of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mrs. Mabel O'Dell, of Galesburg, Illinois, and Mrs,. Doris Finch, of East St. Loiuis, Illinois; also seven grandchildren and many other relatives. In November, 1900, Mr. and Mrs. Ross came to Brookfield to make thier home, Mr. Ross entering the service of the Burlington Railroad. He retired from active duty in 1940. Mr. Ross was a member of the local United Brethren Church, and a charter menmber of the Men's Brotherhood of teh church. He was also active in the O. R. C. and the Burlington Veterans.
