- NAME: Michael (Mitchell) DePotty /DEFROTY (DEPARTY)/
Michael or Mitchell, served in the War of 1812, and was allotted a Land Grant in the town of Caistor, Lincoln, Ontario, Canada. They lived there until he died due to wounds sustained in the War. He died before May 1825.

Michael Depotty, 1815 (Vol. 3739, Claim No. 2036, reet T-1140.) War of 1812 Claims for Losses (RG 19, E5a). !Film #1630561, Number 36693, pg #6, was a list of land grants, signed 29 mar 1802, In Lower Canada, many individuals received land without having to petition. It was usually the land agent, in this case, Maur. Cel. Blondeau. who submitted a petition for a tract of land and then assigned it to settlers. Michel Depati received his land in St. Stanislas in the La Prairie region (RG1 L3L, p. 36693, reel C-2521).
