- Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Davis
An informal reception Saturday evening will feature the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Davis, 1185 East Thirteenth South Street.The reception will be given by the couple's children at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Liliu D. Peery, 1763 Herbert Avenue, Saturday between 7 and 10 p.m.. Friends are invited to call between those hours.
Mr and Mrs. Davis were married in the Logan Temple Sept. 19, 1888, by Apostle Marriner W. Merrill. The couple are the parents of five children four of whom are living: Vera D. Sederholm, Brigham City; Mrs. Peery, Edna D. Hollingsworth and A. Wesley Davis, of Salt Lake.
Mr. Davis was born in the old Seventh Ward in Salt Lake, a son of Albert W. and Melissa J. Lambson Davis. He was a member of the bishopric of Center Ward for 17 years and bishop for the last five. He has filled two missions to the Hawaiian Islands.
Mrs. Davis is a native of Glascow, Scotland, and when five years old came to Utah with her parents, James and Catherine Davidson Forsythe. She has served as president of the Center Ward Relief Society for 19 years and accompanied her husband on his first mission to Hawaii.
