So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • Comments (Family Group Sheet for HANES, Morton/MACARTHUR, Mary Agnes (F8300) m. 24 Feb 1897 ): Hi just a quick correction for you - Morton Haines (not Hanes) is the correct spelling for the husband of MacArthur, Mary Agnes (F8300) m. 24 Feb, 1897.

they are my great grandparents through their daughter, Dorma Isabelle Haines Stewart. Dorma was born 1903 & died 1983. She was married to Rudolph "Red" Jennings Stewart b. 1900 & died 1903. Pop Stewart was in the Army Air Corp which later became US Air Force. He was part of the occupying forces in Tokyo. He retired as USAF Lt. Col. He died at age 80 helping a neighbor trim his tree! He fell about 20 feet to the ground at 80 years old!! What a way to go! Both my grandparents are buried in the Nat'l Cemetery in Portland, OR.

Dorma & "Red" had 2 children. My dad Altha Morton Stewart born 14 July, 1930. Died Oct. 2004. He was married to my mom Glenna Marion Lowry in Dec. 1955. She was born 5 Aug 1932 and died July 2000. Both were cremated. My parents had 3 daughters and a son all living. I'm the oldest. My brother is the youngest.

Dad's only sibling is Janet Lee Stewart Potter. She is still living. I don't know her Bday but she was 10 years younger than dad so approx. 1940? Janet had 3 sons and 1 daughter. I believe one son is deceased. She was married to Maurice "Mike" Potter who died approx. 2010?

I understand Morton Haines was a mean man. I'm not positive but Morton & Mary Agnes may have divorced late in life? One of their grandchildren, Nathan Haines has done a lot of research on the family & would know if you would like me to find out. Although now that I type that it makes me wonder if it was Nathan's father who was the mean one? I think his name was Neal, my grandmother Dorma's brother.

Just happened to run across your website when I googled Mary Agnes' father David MacArthur. I was able to go to Scotland last summer and take pictures (mostly of tomb stones) all around the little villages in Fife where they lived & died. Too cool!

      best,
      Becky Gray
