    • Janet Burns Kennedy was the third child of David Kennedy and Janet Burns. She came "with mother" on the ship "Athletae". Ships records as follows: Page 39&45 Book No 12 Page 39&45 Book 12 Travelling with her and her family was her husband to be Albert Wallace. it seems Albert and her brother David were friends. Albert Wallace was a Joiner by profession. Albert was 19 years and disembarked with the family. He and Janet were subsequently married in St Peters Anglican Church Eastern Hill in Melbourne. As did the Kennedy family Albert and Janet Wallace went on to Beechworth in search of their fortune, albert as a miner. Janet is buried in the Presbyterian section of the Beechworth Cemetery in Grave A1014 with her husband Albertina grave surrounded by a beautiful iron fence and headed with a marble headston inscribed: " In memory of Albert Wallace born in Edinburgh December 6 1834,died in Beechworth March 21 1896.Aged 61 years.Gone but not forgotten.Also Janet Wallace.Relict of the above.Died march 5 1905 aged 67 years."DEEPLY REGRETTED Janet Burns Kennedy was the third child of David Kennedy and Janet Burns.
