    • Obiturary: The South Idaho Press in Burley, Idaho Norman E. Ferrin The South Idaho Press - Burley, ID e-mail this story Rupert - Norman E. Ferrin passed May 22, 2005, at Minidoka Memorial Hospital of an extended illness. Norman was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Burley, to Clovis and Alta Ferrin. He graduated from Rupert High School where he participated in sports. He served in the United States Army from March of 1953 to March of 1955 stationed in Germany and then served eight years in the reserves. He worked for Simplot Trucking for 26 years, Circle A for four years, and Trans Systems for three years. Norman married Alice Jolley on Sept. 22, 1972. He is survived by his wife, Alice of Rupert; one daughter, Julie Spear of California; two step sons, Wayne Jolley and Clyde Jolley of Portland, Ore.; one step daughter, Rita Sharon (Geoff) Phillips of Citrus Heights, Calif.; four brothers, Dean (Betty) Ferrin of Blackfoot, Lavelle (Louis) Ferrin of Acequia, Warren (Connie) Ferrin of Dayton, Lloyd (Doris) Ferrin of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, LaRue (Willard) Hawkins of Rupert and Darla Rust of St. George, Utah; eight step grandchildren and 19 step great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Floyd; one step great granddaughter; and brother-in-law, Dean Rust. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Rupert Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Mini-Cassia Veterans. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel, prior to the graveside services.
