    • New England pg. 1909 - For generations the Rhode Island branch of the ancient Massachusetts Kimballs have lived and died in and about Providence, the home of the earlier generations here being largely in the old town of Providence, out of which came a number of the present towns in Providence county. The Kimball family is one of the historic and time-honored families of New England, the progenitor of this family having landed on these shores two hundred and eighty and more years ago. ~BAPTISM: Also shown as Baptized 29 Jul 1869

      The son of Jacob and Sarah (Hale) Kimball, he married (1) Priscilla Smith on July 15, 1756, and (2) Phebe (Rogers) Wildes in Jan., 1795.
      He was a blacksmith and a sergeant in Capt. Perkins' company of "minute men" on Aril 19, 1775.
