So shall it be with my father: he shall be

council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • ROB O BISCHOFF

Born: July 23, 1912 to Nephi Daniel Bischoff and Annie Sophia Olson Bischoff

He was given the name Rob O Bischoff in honor of Annie’s brother Nephi Robert Olson who died in February 1912 in Sweden where he was on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS). Also known as “Mormon”.
Please note that “ Rob O” is his full name. Not “Robert Olson”.
Rob went to Lovell schools and learned about farming and ranching from his father and brothers. He left High School before he graduated because he wanted to learn more about welding ,etc.
Rob was about 15 when his father, N.D. Bischoff, tried to push hay through a hay chopper and almost cut off his foot. Rob and his brother Eugene tried everything they could think of to free N.D. By the time someone showed up to help them ND had lost a lot of blood. He died in the hospital on January
      14, 1931.
Rob married Pauline Whitney of Cowley on the 14 November, 1932 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
They had three children: Elaine, Bobbie Rae, and Jack Whitney.
Rob was exempted from military service in WW II because his occupation was farmer/rancher and his mother was a widow.
Rob was born with a pioneer spirit.
Rob was always interested in what made things work. Whether it was a small clock or a big farm machine he could always find a way to make it do a better job. He would weld or wire the parts together so the machine would run for another period of time. He used the cement floor of his shop as a blackboard when trying to plan projects., such as reservoirs, ditches, roads, and fixing broken machinery.
In 1947 Rob was featured in the Great Western news letter “Through the Leaves” for building a hay bale loader that would lift the bales from the field up to the bed of the truck so a man could stack the bales on the truck and then it could be used to unload the truck to the haystack. Two men could handle the hay from one to two balers. This greatly simplified the cost of handling hay.
Rob had many other inventions that were used by his family and friends.
Rob was in charge of all the farms of the Bischoff Livestock Co. It was a big job to keep everything co-ordinated and the hired men working at productive jobs, and the equipment running. He built many of the reservoirs on the mountain so that the cattle would have water without having to travel where the creeks were in the bottom of the draws and canyons.
Rob could survey ditches , roads and fence lines. He was always willing to help his friends if they needed ditches resurveyed.
Rob spent much time searching for the piles of rock called “corner stones” which were placed by the first surveyors of the land in the 1800,s when the land was opened for public use. There was a mark on one stone that would tell exactly where the corner stone was in regard to the general survey that was made in 1860. Now a person will find metal stakes that have the location information .
After Bischoff purchased the Moss Ranch, Rob told his brother, Hy, if he had a big bulldozer he felt that he could build a road into Devil’s Canyon. Hy purchased a big used dozer from a coal mine in Bearcreek, Montana.. It used cables to raise and lower the blade. When it wore out , Hy purchased another one with hydraulics. Rob was an expert driver of those big machines..
Rob liked to play cards and drink beer with his friends. He would spend hours at the pool hall so often that Pauline would be waiting outside the building with the children until he came out.
