OBITUARY: Born May 18, 1939 to Paul E. and Virginia Smith Chase. Married Karol Ann Gerber, December 18, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. OBITUARY: A vice-president of Merrill Lynch where he worked 32 years. Member of the President, Executive, Chairman Clubs and the Charles E. Merrill Circle. Graduated from the U of U in Banking and Finance. Served LDS Mission to Southern Australia. Past member of the Lions Club. Enjoyed sports as a player and coach. Member of the LDS "All-Church" softball team. Had special lifelong friends from Stratford area, the U of U, "The Group", and office co-workers. OBITUARY: Active in the LDS Church, his favorite callings were with the youth and in three Bishoprics (Bishop of Mt. Olympus 8th Ward). OBITUARY: Survived by loving wife; four sons, Michael, Steven, Brian, David; brothers, Robert (Nola) and David (Shannon) Chase; uncle, J. Alvin Smith (Marguarite); in-laws, Nina H. Gerber, Kent (Dani) Gerber, Gordon Gerber, Betty Conner; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Ann Chase, parents, father-in-law, Howard J. Gerber. OBITUARY: Special thanks to the many who were concerned about and cared for Richard during his illness, especially the doctors and staff at the University Hospital. OBITUARY: No flowers. OBITUARY: Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 1994 at 12 noon at the Mt. Olympus North Stake Center, 4176 S. Adonis Drive (3930 East). Friends may call Sunday, May 8, 1994 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and at the Stake Center from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
