Simeon of Durham names "Ethelstan the son-in-law of king Ethelred" among those killed in battle by the Danes "in East Anglia…Ringmere"[1844]. UNKNOWN of Wessex m ÆTHELSTAN, son of --- (-killed in battle Ringmere 5 May 1010).
