      Elizabeth Foote married 1638 Josiah Chuchill of Wethersfield. They had 7 children, among them a son Joseph born Dec 20, 1649 married Mary --- and had a daughter Dinah who married Jacob Deming 1709 (children of Jacob & Elizabeth Churchill named.

      Thomas [WELLES] was made a magistrate at Hartford, and after holding many other minor positions of public trust, in 1655 became governor of the colony. He was born in 1598, and died Jan. 14, 1660. By his first wife he had 6 children, all born prior to 1644. His second wife was ELIZABETH FOOTE, widow of Nathaniel Foote, and daughter of John Deming. Her daughter, Elizabeth in 1638 married Josiah Churchill, the first of the Churchill ;family in this country, and ancestor of Sarah Churchill, who, April 9, 1780, married Benjamin Hodge, Jr.
