So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ABOUT ISABELLE/ISABEL/ISABELLA WARD:
Isabelle/a Ward probably was born in England in about 1621. Although often called the daughter of Andrew Ward and Hester Sherman, Isabelle does not appear in a list of their children in the Great Migration Project compilation by Robert Charles Anderson. Further, the dating seems to be problematic. Hester Sherman Ward would have been very young when Isabelle was born. It is highly unlikely she was the daughter of this couple.
It is clear that Isabelle was a sister of Lawrence Ward and George Ward, who were among the founders of Branford, New Haven, Connecticut . Their parentage is not known. These three were not the children of the widow Joyce Ward from Stretton, Rutland Co., England, who settled in Wethersfield, CT At least one source states, without proof, that these three were the children of John and Elizabeth (Haselford) Ward of of Braeford, Warwickshire, England.
She was married, probably in Wethersfield, Hartford, CT to John Catlin [Sr.] in about 1641 or 1642. He died in 1644.
Isabelle's brother, Lawrence Ward was one of the original group from Branford, CT who settled Newark, New Jersey in 1666. As the widow Catlin, Isabelle and her son John had been among this group of original settlers of Newark, but while John had remained in the new settlement to become one of its foremost men and its first schoolmaster, his mother moved to Hadley,
She married (2) James Northam of Hartford and Wethersfield, and one of the first settlers of Hadley, Hampshire, MA, who he died there in 1660; and she married (3) Joseph Baldwin of Milford, Wethersfield and Hadley.
Her brother, Lawrence Ward, died in Newark, New Jersey, in 1670. Her other brother, George Ward, had died previously. Lawrence's widow Elizabeth declined to be named as administratrix of his estate and Isabelle, the 'sister', i.e., sister-in-law of Elizabeth, the widow, was granted the letters of administration of the estate of her brother Deacon Lawrence Ward. The following entries are found in the Calendar of New Jersey Wills, 1670-1730, Vol. I:
      (1) "Lawrence Ward, late of Newark, died intestate, without children, leaving only his widow Upon his estate; and the said widow, Elizabeth Ward, renounced in favor ofher sister Esebell Baldwyn, wife of Joseph Baldwyn, of Hadley in Massachusetts, upon condition that the said Elizabeth Ward, widow, shall enjoy the said whole estate during her life and to dispose of one-third part thereof remaining at the time of her death as she shall think good. The Governor accordingly appoints Isebell Baldwyn administratrix, September 2, 1671.
      (2) "Esebell Baldwyn declares that whereas Lawrence Ward, late of Newark, my brother, deceased intestate, etc., leaving a widow, my sister Elizabeth Ward, upon the estate of my deceased brother, I appoint my son John Catlin and John Ward, turner, my kinsman, both of Newark, attorneys to take unto them jointly all my whole power and interest in and to the said estate, etc. September 4, 1671."
Isabelle (Ward) Catlin Northam Baldwin died in Hadley, Hampshire, MA on 8 December 1676. Her only child was John Catlin [Jr.], born 28 June 1643 in Wethersfield, Hartford, CT. He married Mary Baldwin, daughter of his stepfather, Joseph Baldwin by his first wife, on 23 September 1662.
