      "Nichols, Caleb, s. of Francis.
      Married Anne Ward, dau. of Andrew; she was called Ann Nichols in will of her mother Hester Ward, 1665. Mrs. Anne Nickols "departed this Life on ye 23d of July 1718 in ye 98th yeare of her age as is supposed on good grounds."
      Will of Caleb, Sr., of Woodbury, 14 Aug. 1690, proved 8 Nov. 1690; wife Ann; oldest son Samuel and his child Josiah; sons John, Caleb, Abraham; three daus. Mary, Anna, Phebe; friends Mr. Zachariah Walker, Capt. John Minor, and John Sherman, overseers. Widow was called Hannah when she swore to Inv. [Caleb's will did not name married daus.]
      Abraham, Caleb and John Nichols, Joseph Hull in behalf of Mary his wife, Phebe wife of Isaac Knell, and Anna Nichols the widow, agree to a distribution, Est. of Caleb Nichols, 28 May 1702. [Woodbury Deeds.]
