    • According to Wikipedia citing Keats-Rohan (1999), Reginald (Rainald) de Warenne (1121/6 – 1179), is third son of William de Warenne, 2nd Earl of Surrey and Isabel de Vermandois, who married Alice, daughter and heiress of William de Wormegay, Baron of Wormegay in Norfolk.

      This contradicts Warren (1902), who stated that Reginald was the second son of the Earl of Surrey; who married Aldelia, daughter of Roger de Mowbray ... and had William (living 1186 and 89) who married Isabel, daughter of Sir William de Haydon of Norfolk. According to Carthew (1877), this *different line* (up to Sir Edward de Warren, son of Maud Skeyton a.k.a. mistress Matilda de Nerford) is believed to be a fabrication made in an attempt to disprove Edward's illegitmate birth.
