So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • This individual has the following other parents in the Ancestral File: Edmund PLANTAGENET (AFN:8TSM-C0) and Blanche D'ARTOIS (AFN:8TSM-D5) Henry Plantagenet, 3rd Earl of Lancaster was born in 1281. In the winter of 1292-93 he and his brother were constant companions of John of Brabant. When his father died in 1296 he inherited the castles and lordships of Monmouth, Kidwelly, and Carwathlan, together with all that his father owned on the Welsh side of the Severn. He served Edward I in Flanders in 1297 and 1298. In 1298 he was captain in the third division of the army which invaded Scotland. He married Maud, daughter of Sir Patrick Chaworth and his wife Isabel de Beauchamp. At the coronation of Edward II in 1308he carried the rod with the dove. In 1315 he served in Wales and in 1318 in Scotland. In 1324 he was created Earl of Lancaster. He was very upset at the fate of his brother. When Isabella landed with an armed force in September 1326 he joined her, marched with her to Bristol, and joined in declaring the king's son guardian of the kingdom, and sat in the judgment that condemned the elder Despenser. Henry had cared for his cousin Edward II at Kenilworth Castle just before the fallen King had been transported to Berkeley Castle where he was murdered. He later had a lot of support when he opposed the rule of Mortimer, Earl of March. It was about 1329 that he went to France, and had troubles with his eyes that ended in blindness. He was still instrumental in the overthrough of Mortimer. Beause of his blindness he turned to a life of devotion. He died on September 22, 1435, and was buried on the north side of the high altar of the church of the hospital he founded. DEATH: Also shown as Died 22 Sep 1345
