    • Julia was on the 1860 census with her family Arthur and Lucy Millikin age 6, Chalmers township, McDonough county, Illinois 6 July 1860. Julia was on the 1870 census Town of Tennessee same county, page 461 age 17, born Illinois. Julia was on the 1880 census town of Colchester, McDonough county, Illinois 2 June 1880; 38 Harper John 29 Coal miner Born Eng;Eng; Eng; Julia 21 born Ill; Maine; New York. Marriage: Marriage license #59. At the time of their marriage both Julia Amelia Millikin and John Henry Harper were single and unmarried. Her age was given as 24 and his as 28 both residents of Colchester, McDonough Co., Illinois. They were married at her parents home by Solomon Salisbury Minister of the Gospel. (this is a son of Lucy's sister Katharine Salisbury. He was in the RLDS Church). Francis was her first child. Clara Irene Hendel reported his certificate of birth on July 24, 1941. She was an Aunt to Francis William Harper, which means she was the sister to Julia Amelia Millikin. There are extensive notes on Francis William Harper in his personal record. Cemetery information: There is a stone monument in the Widow Moore Cemetery, which is located on Constitution Road approximately 450 just 3/4 of a mile west of Colchester, Illinois where there is an inscription of "in loving remembrance of Julia a. Wife of John Harper died at Salt Lake City June 7, 1888 age 34 years 11 months 21 days Our Julia at rest. This monument is very large for this cemetery indicating that John Harper must of had some money. Her inscription is on the west side of the stone. On the south side of the stone is another inscription reading Elizabeth born August 8, 1883 died 8 months. This stone is in the middle far west side of the cemetery. Just North of the HARPER stone is the MILLIKIN Stone of Lucy and Arthur's. This one has to be put up over the original one because it is much newer and very large granite monument, with two small stones in front of the main stone, East, Lucy Millikin: 1821-1882 Arthur Millikin: 1817-1882
