- The Daily Journal, Macomb, Illinois, Saturday, October 9, 1976, page 2, column 2: Charles J. Miller, 65, Macomb, Dies ... Charles J. Miller, 65, of 1601 E. Jackson St., Macomb, died at 5:05 a. m. today at McDonough District Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Chapel where friends may call. The family has requested that those wishing may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. He was born Aug. 17, 1911, at Macomb, the son of George and Elizabeth Clark Miller. He resided all of his life in Macomb and was a retired foreman of the Western University physical plant. He was a member of the Methodist Church, and Macomb Elks Lodge. He served during World War II with the Coast Guard. On June 26, 1938, he married Frances Newland. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Mrs. William F. (Janet) Todd of Irvine, Calif., and Mrs. Michael F. (Jane) Hynes of Arlington Heights, five grandchildren, four brothers, William J. Miller and Max Miller of Macomb. Kenneth Miller of Milford, Ill., and Kerman Miller of Peoria; and three sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Ethelyn) Ellrich of Rochester, Ill., Mrs. Joe (Louise) Smith of DeKalb and Mrs. Clinton (Jean) Kessinger of Elsah, Ill.
