So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

Geniel was born on 1 July 1903 in Manti, Sanpete County, Utah. She was the fifth child of Jacob Baltzar Jacobson and Lena Peterson, and records that she had a very special life. She spent most of her happy young life in the city of Manti, Utah. She attended elementary school and became very proficient in academics. She was strong willed and a perfectionist, learning to crochet, tat, and embroider before entering junior high. The ribbon bows in her hair had to be perfect. She was able to hitch up a horse to a buggy or wagon and do errands for the family. She took piano lessons and played while the family sang and enjoyed her talent. She was a religious student and held many church positions.
She filled a mission in the Eastern States where B.H. Roberts was her mission president. She was a good missionary and was much respected. Upon her return from her mission she taught school one year in Manti, and three years in Draper, Utah. Geniel was married to Stanley S. Partridge on June 24 1932 by her father Jacob Baltzar Jacobson, who was the Vice President of the Manti Temple at the time. She writes, “We married 24 June 1931 and my Father passed away in August of the same year. This was one of the saddest experiences in my life.”
Shortly after her marriage she made her home in Cowley, Wyoming. She worked hard. She kept a very clean and dust free house. She did her spring house cleaning very faithfully. Geniel had a beautiful flower garden in front of the house which she would water by hand in the evenings and then hose off the sidewalk too. She faithfully tended to the flowers. (I loved watching her do this.)
Mother made many quilts and sewed beautiful evening dresses for all of her daughters. She sewed tailored suits as well. She took pride in putting the lining in a jacket without any loose ends, very professional. Her homemade bread was the best ever. Fresh bread with butter and honey and glass of chocolate milk was a great treat to great us when we came home from school. The cookie jar was always full with homemade cookies for the grandkids.
Bottling fruit and vegetables was an annual event. She would also bottle the chickens that had grown too old to lay eggs. Her vegetable garden was very large and pretty much weed free. Mom seemed to understand her chickens. We were in awe that she could get the eggs out from under the “scrooks” ( a Danish word for setting hens) when no one else could.
We loved the holiday dinners seated around the big oak table. Once you were seated, there was no getting out except for crawling under the table. Great memories of her making corn dolls and holly hock dolls and laying on the floor under her quilt frame eating popcorn are so warm and fuzzy. She passed away 15 August 1984 at 81 years in Lovell, Wyoming at the Senior Health Center.
