So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • Bruce - The Founder was Sir Robert de Brus, a Norman knight. He came to England with Wm. the Conqueror who granted him vast lands in Yorkshire. His son, Robert, went to Scotland and was made Lord of Annadale by David I whose great granddaughter, Isabella, married Robert Bruce, 5th Lord of Annandale. Through this marriage their son, Robert, 6th Lord of Annandale, Regent of Scotland, inherited a right to the Crown to which he was nominated by Alexander III before the birth of the "Maid of Norway."

Robert IV de Brus, the Noble (ca. 1195–1226 [1]) was a 13th-century 4th Lord of Annandale.
He was the son of William de Brus, 3rd Lord of Annandale and Christina or Beatrice de Teyden.
Robert IV married ca. 1219 Isabella, the second daughter of David of Scotland, 8th Earl of Huntingdon, by which marriage he acquired the manors of Writtle and Hatfield Broadoak, Essex in England. They had his heir and successor, and a daughter:
      Robert V de Brus.
      Bernard de Brus
He died sometime between 1226 , and was buried in Gisborough Priory or in Sawtry Abbey.
