So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

  • Notes
    • The Kennedy family is descendent from the ancient Earls of Garrick, who lived in Ayershire, Scotland. Duncan de Carrick ('the chief of the clan') lived A.D. 1153. He had a son Nichol de Carrick, and a grandson Roland de Carrick. Roland took the name Kennedy in the 14th Century. In both Scotland and Ireland the name "Kennedy" means 'the head of a sept or clan.' Roland (de Carrick) Kennedy was killed in the Holy War against the Saracens. His daughter married Robert de Bruce. His right to lead the clan was conferred upon him by King Robert II. It is believed that practically all the Kennedys of the world are descendent from Roland Kennedy and from Kennedy of Dunure, who was chief of the clan, Earl of Cassilis and Marquis of Ailsa. The Kennedy Family Records referred to above show our clan to have been very prominent in the development and history of the British Isles, there being kings of both Scotland and England among them. Robert, 2nd King of Scotland, Robert, 3rd King of Scotland, and Henry, 3rd King of England. Also Alfred the Great, King England. All descendents of the original Roland Carrick and Kennedy of Dunure, Marquis of Ailsa. Ref: The Kennedy Records Compiled by J.
