    • Geoffrey (VI) de Neville; had attained his majority by 1161, a justice in Yorkshire 1184; married by Michaelmas 1176 Emma (died by 1208), only daughter and ultimately heir of Bertram de Bulmer, feudal Lord of Brancepeth, Co. Durham, and widow of Geoffrey de Valoignes, and died by Michaelmas 1193. [Burke's Peerage]

      GEOFFREY DE NEVILLE son and heir, must have been of age in 1161. From the spring of 1161, £15 of the yearly issues of the Crown soke of Horncastle were in his hands, representing a grant of Ashby and Toynton. He gave land in Burreth and Toynton (Thinesto) and the church of St. German of Ranby to Tupholme. In September 1184 he was on circuit as a justice in Yorks.

      He married, before Michaelmas 1176, Emma, daughter of Bertram DE BULMER (query by Emma, daughter of Robert FOSSARD), and widow of Geoffrey DE VALOIGNES (died 1169) (e). He was dead by Michaelmas 1193. His widow was dead in 1208 (g). [Complete Peerage IX:493, transcribed by Dave Utzinger]

      (e) She was heir of her brother William, and granddaughter of Ansketil de Bulmer, steward of Robert Fossard, by (query) heiress of Piers de Humez of Brancepeth.

      (g) When Henry de Neville gave L100 and a palfrey to have 3 fees in Raskelf and Sutton, late belonging to Emma de Humez, his mother.

      Must have been of age in 1161. From 1162 he was receiving fifteen pounds yearly revenue from a grant of Ashby and Toynton. He gave lands for churches, among which was St. German's Church of Raby, In 1176 he was a circuit justice in Yorkshire. He married Emma, widow of Geoffrey de Valoignes and daughter of Bertand de Bulmer, before 1176. By the heiress of Bulmer, he acquired extensive estates, which after the death of his son Henry, without issue, devolved upon his daughter. Geoffrey was on the circuit as a Justice in Yorkshire. His lands passed to daughter Isabel.
