  Rhoda and her twin brother, David, were born in Garden Grove, Iowa, which was a stopping place for the family after their expulsion from Nauvoo in 1846. The family moved on to Winter Quarters in 1847. Rhoda was three years old when her family came to Utah with the Edward Hunter Wagon Company. She grew up in Salt Lake City where they lived across from Pioneer Park. Rhoda married Hyrum Chapman in Salt Lake City and they moved to Parley’s Park in Summit county where six children were born to this couple. All but one of the children lived to maturity, married and had families. In the mid 1880’s Rhoda and her family moved to St. John’, Arizona, where they lived for eleven years, then moved to Bluewater, New Mexico, where they were one of the first families belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to settle in this area. Rhoda died January 28, 1917, in Bluewater, New Mexico. Rhoda Ann Fullmer Chapman Rhoda Ann Fullmer was born 15 March 1847, in Garden Grove, Iowa. Her twin brother was born the next day. Garden Grove was a stopping place for her family after their expulsion from Nauvoo in 1846. The family moved on to Winter Quarters in 1847. Their father, David, went to Utah without Rhoda’s mother and her eight children, so as to prepare the way for their immigration. Finally in 1850, with another of David’s wife, the two families came West in 1850, with the Edward Hunter wagon train. Rhoda had three older brothers, three older sisters, and later had another brother and two sisters join the family for a total of 11 children. Rhoda was three years old when her family came to Utah with the Edward Hunter Company. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, across from Pioneer Park. Rhoda married Hyrum Chapman 10 April 1871, in Salt Lake. The family moved several times during the early years of their marriage. Rhoda’s first child was born in Parleys Park, Summit County, Utah. The second child was born in Salt Lake, the next four children in Summit County, and the last two children were born in St. John’s, Arizona. Rhoda and Hyrum moved to St. John’s, Arizona, in 1884, where they lived for 11 years. The family then moved to Bluewater, New Mexico, where they were one of the first Latter-day Saints families to settle in that area. Rhoda Ann Fullmer Chapman died 28 January 1917, Bluewater, Valencia, New Mexico. She and her husband are both buried in the Bluewater Cemetery.
