So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

  • Notes
    • He was the son of William Acie Sr. and Jane Skales. He was born in Kirk Ella in England circa March 1596. He married Margaret Haiton on 25 January 1621. He wrote a will on 22 April 1689 in Rowley, Massachusetts, which was proved on 30 September 1690. In this will, he speaks of himself as "very aged." It mentions his grandchildren John Brown, Nathaniel Brown and Ebenezer Brown; "grandchild Beriah Brown's daughter Sarah Brown"; son John Acy's three daughters, Elizabeth, Hannah and Margaret; grandson John Brown, "with whom he is at present" and who was made sole executor.

In 1638 William Acey came to the colonies with Rev. Ezekiel Rogers, 24th Pastor of St. Peter's Church, Rowley, located in East Riding of Yorkshire, England, when Rogers organized a company of twenty families from Rowley and nearby towns and sailed on "John of London". They arrived in Salem, Massachusetts in the fall of 1638. The first printing press to be used in the colonies was carried over on the "John" and set up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The listing for these first families is said to have burned when Pastor Rogers house burned. The list of the passengers on the John of London, leaving Hull England and arriving in Salem, Massachusetts in the fall of 1638 includes: Acy, William Acy, Margaret (Haiton) Acy, Ruth Acy, Elizabeth Acy, John.
