So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ABOUT JOHN CATLIN OR CATTELL::
Little is known about the origin or whereabouts of John Catlin prior
to his being in Wethersfield, Harftford, Connecticut where his son John
was born in 1643. He may have been born in about 1617 in England and may or
may not have been in the Barbados before arriving in Connecticut.
Reportedly he served as a juror in Hartford, CT in 1644.
His wife, Isabelle or Isabella, was probably the sister of Lawrence Ward
of Branford, New Haven, Connecticut and a founder of Newark, New Jersey,
where he died in 1670, leaving property to Isabelle, in the care of his nephews,
      John Ward and John Catlin.
John Catlin apparently died in Wethersfield in 1644, where his estate was
appraised on 17 July 1644. It amounted to 69 pounds anc consisted of a home lot and barn, garden, six acres of land in Mile Meadow and three acres of land in the Great Meadow. The administrators of his estate were his widow and William Gibbons, but no record of a distribution of the estate has been found..
