  Database compiled by Michael Kennedy of Alpine, UT., Pres. Joseph Smith, Jr. Family Organization. What do you say about a mother’s life? How do you break down 47 years of her love for me? Judith Ann Madison, my mother, did not have the easiest life, but I never questioned her love for me and my brothers and sisters. She supported me even when it was hard for her, such as when I joined the Air Force and left for basic training. You see, I am her oldest child and she had never experienced one of her children leaving before. She later told me how hard it was and that she always worried about my safety. She gave me the support I needed and the confidence that I could succeed. My mother always made those special days special. I remember a few Christmas seasons where the money was tight and Tom and I were told not to expect a lot of presents but when Christmas came around there were always more than enough. Some of my fondest memories of her are days where we would clean the house together. Now, this might seem odd and I admit that I hate cleaning the house but she would put music on and we would sing and talk and have a great time. Other great memories are flooding my mind right now but I do not have enough time and space to record them here. I would like to conclude this by saying that she is missed and still loved. I love you mom and pray that I will reunite with you in Heaven. - Steven J. Waddle Thank you for life, thank you for always being there for me. You were my rock, my confidant, the person i could always go to and know beyond a shadow of a doubt of I would never be judged. I trusted you when I had nobody that would understand, and you always understood. Thank you for teaching me how to laugh and how to love. I will never miss like I miss you. - Thomas A. Waddle I know my experiences with you as my parent were different from those my brothers and sister had. Although you wanted to you were unable to do the things you did with them. Still, you were always there, with wisdom, strength, and love. When times were rough, you still gave me a normal childhood. With giggles, mischief, and a family. I realize no one will ever love me like you did. They won’t wait outside my door after we have a fight, so after we can talk things out and forgive each other. You had to of had the patience of a saint to do that. I am so thankful for the time we had together, and though I wish we could have had more, it gives me comfort to know you’re not in pain. You were an extraordinary women. With such a big heart. You listened to everyone without judgment, and always knew how to comfort them. You said to me once, that sometimes there is nothing that can be said to make someone feel better, that the best we can do is to hold them. I will miss your loving embrace, and hope to see you and Laura again. - Tenessa M. Madison How does one sum 65 years of someone’s life into a few paragraphs? It’s nearly impossible to say everything about my mom, Judi. She was full of life. She loved fishing, shooting, and to be out doors. Married at the young age of 17, she became a home maker. She was a very talented artist, and a writer as well. As a mother took great pride in creating a clean, and loving environment for her kids and their friends. Later in her life Judi found herself a single mother. Her older boys soon grew up and left the nest, leaving her with Laura and soon after me. As a mother she taught us about sacrifice, love, and our self-worth. Never once did I doubt her love for any of us. Even as we made mistakes, she was their encouraging us to go on. We hope to make her proud and will carry her memory in our hearts.
